Daniel R. Verdon was named editor in chief of DVM Newsmagazine in 2004.
He was awarded with the McAllister Editorial Fellowship at Northwestern University to advance the study of business-to-business journalism in 2008. The award, underwritten by the American Business Media Foundation, is granted to one journalist in the country each year.
During his tenure, DVM Newsmagazine has maintained its top standing in readership. And DVM Newsmagazine editors have captured five national Jesse H. Neal awards, considered the Pulitzer of the business press. In addition, DVM editors have been named a finalist in the Jesse H. Neal editorial competition six times. His other contributions to the market include showcasing novel market research, moderating panel discussions on top professional issues, spearheading unique features including one-on-one interviews with key veterinarian influencers.
