Idea Exchange: Ideas to keep patients warm

To prevent hypothermia during anesthesia, we place baby booties or socks on all our patients to reduce heat loss through their footpads. We also keep patients warm by using a Bair Hugger (Arizant Healthcare) temperature management unit. We monitor the temperature of all patients we use these techniques on and have found little to no change (< 1 F ) in core body temperature.
