To minimize confusion and mistakes from smudged or hard-to-read handwritten labels, we use a label maker (Brother P-Touch PT 2710) to print out labels for blood tubes, biopsy containers, and other items that are being sent to a lab. The label maker prints on strips that are about a ½-in wide and as long as we want. They are the perfect size for blood tubes.
