Make anesthetic episodes safer with this reader tip.
You can never be too safe or have too many oversight protocols in place when administering anesthesia. That is why we placed a timer, which is automatically set to two minutes, on the vaporizer. When someone increases or decreases the vaporizer setting, he or she also touches the start button on the timer, so the alarm will sound in two minutes. Even with a technician monitoring anesthesia, our practice has greatly benefited from the simple reminder of the two-minute alarm.
