When giving fractious or nervous cats subcutaneous fluids, my colleagues and I cover them with heavy towels to calm them down.
When giving fractious or nervous cats subcutaneous fluids, my colleagues and I cover them with heavy towels to calm them down. We use a thick towel into which we have made a small fenestration. We drape the towel over the cat, positioning the fenestration over the shoulder blades. The towel safely restrains the cat, and the fenestration provides a spot for us to administer fluids.
