In "Don't socialize medicine," Dr. Miller talks about how his wife had to wait three days in England to see an ophthalmologist. Has he tried to make a specialist appointment lately in America? When my husband had an eye problem a few years ago, the next available appointment we could get with an ophthalmologist was in four and a half months. We would happily have waited three days and driven twice to Leeds. And when we finally got in to see the specialist, he ended up with three different diagnoses and treatments, none of which resolved the problem.
