Heart disease is a common problem diagnosed in cats and dogs. It can be a congenital problem or acquired later in life. Patients with heart disease may present with an incidental murmur or in fulminant congestive heart failure requiring immediate emergency treatment. 6 CE hours.

Cytology is a minimally invasive, yet diagnostically powerful tool that can provide you and your clients with a wealth of information about the patient. The goal of this conference will be to strengthen cytologic skills through the extensive use of clinical examples. Though any infectious agent can spread in a hospital, nosocomial agents are those that have evolved to be highly adapted to the hospital ecosystem. Certain strains of Staph aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Clostridium difficile, and others spread between patients and hospitals in both humans and animals. The ecology and general means by which nosocomial agents spread will be covered in the first hour. Details for specific agents along with disinfection and monitoring will be covered. 1 CE credit.
