When we've just diagnosed diabetes mellitus in a patient, we shave a small patch of fur in the insulin administration area
so the client can see the needle entering the subcutis. After getting used to giving insulin, clients don't need to keep this
area clipped; however, many clients still ask for a "clip job" because it's easier to visualize giving the injections.
