Quick-release cam cleats used on sailboats to set sails make inexpensive x-ray table tie-down cleats. For $36, I attached
12 cam cleats (available in marine or sailing supply stores or catalogs) with screws around the base of our x-ray table. By
using ¼-in nylon rope in the cleats, I can position an animal or a limb on the table and leave the room to take the radiograph.
