"My neighbor poisoned my dog" syndrome

VETERINARY MEDICINE

Although clients often think a pet’s toxicosis stems from a nasty neighbor, most often the poisoning is due to a toxic agent from another source, says Patricia Talcott, DVM, PhD, DABVT. At the CVC in Washington, D.C., Dr. Talcott shared case reports of toxicoses due to chocolate, mushrooms, the rodenticide fluoroacetate, and xylitol.
