Getting to know Curt Coffman, DVM, FAVD, DAVDC ahead of Fetch Long Beach

In an interview with dvm360, Curt Coffman, DVM, FAVD, DAVDC, specialty director of dentistry at Thrive Pet Healthcare, shared what got him interested in pursuing a specialty in dentistry. He also discussed what he likes about veterinary conferences like Fetch and what he is excited about with the upcoming conference in Long Beach, California.

Curt Coffman, DVM, FAVD, DAVDC: My first 8 years of practice were in primary care small animal practice, and [because] I was kind of the new guy I was designated to do dentistry and I didn't know a lot about it. So I took a lot of CE and I really liked it. And so after, I decided to kind of switch gears I went back and did a residency in dentistry to specialize and get my board certification. Then really for the last 20 years approximately, in my practice life, I've been doing just referral dentistry.

What I'm looking forward to at the conference at Long Beach is just being able to present my topics to more general audience...I'm excited to just be outside of my own network a little bit...and meet new people that are outside my practice, outside my specialty lane. That's what I like about meetings like Fetch.
